  • No Title

We were talking about Obama and the election the other day in class. A student stood up and said,"We voted for him because if we didn't people would consider us racist. And we voted for him because we thought hes black, so lets vote for him. That considers us racist."
To a point I kind of agree. A lot of white people did vote for him, because they don't want to be discriminated by other people and be called racist. But I don't think that's how he won. I believe he won because he worked hard for the spot. I'm not saying McCain didn't, because he worked very hard to. Just Obama worked harder. I'm not saying I'm a Democratic or Republican. I honestly don't know what I am. But I do believe that Obama won for all his hard work. And I think America needs a change.
Racism will be around no matter what. Some kids growing up in this generation have parents who were around when racism was a big blow out.And kids are heavily influenced by their parents. I personally think everyone has a little bit of racism in them. Whether we want to admit it or not. Sometimes we'll catch ourselves thinking something racist, or telling racist jokes. Some people think repeating something racist, isn't racist. Well I think it is. But thats just my opinion.

Thats all I can really think of for today. Leave comments/opinions. I would love to hear what you have to say

  • Love

This past summer me and a few friends went to this group session for church. The topic that day was about sex and love. He told everyone of us that no one under the age of 21 knows what love truly is. How is that possible? Last time I checked, there was no "age rule" that lets us know when we can fall in love and know what it is. To me, age is nothing but a number. Now I don't think love can be experienced in middle school, but maybe it can. I don't know. I fell in love, real love, when I was 16. And I don't know how to explain it, but its love. It bothered me hearing this guy tell us that we don't know what love is, and that love can only be known and experienced with people 21 and over. Like I said before, age is nothing but a number. And I honestly believe it can be experienced at any reasonable age.

That's all for today. Leave me your thoughts, and comments. I would love to hear everyone's opinion.

    Sincerely,

  • its that time of year again

Its finally almost Christmas time. Time for the lights, trees, shopping, and of course tons of radio stations playing non-stop Christmas songs. One of the hardest parts of Christmas, to me, is the shopping and what to get everyone. Whenever I ask someone what they want all I get is, "I don't know." or "You don't need to get me anything."and the list goes on. Why is it that when it comes to Christmas, a lot of us don't know what it is we want? Usually during the year I see a lot of items that I want, but then when it gets to Christmas, I don't really know what I want. Sure I can just ask for the items I saw earlier in the year, but for some reason I don't. I have no idea why, its just the way I am. A lot of my friends are the same way, but a few already have their Christmas lists ready after Halloween. Crazy to think that some people right away know what they want. There's people like that, and there's people like me. We never know what we want till the last minute. But all in all, Christmas is about so much more then the shopping, gifts, and music. Its about the time with our family. That's one thing I love the most about Christmas. Getting up early in the morning, drinking hot chocolate, sitting around the tree with the family I love so much, and opening presents with them.

Well that's all for today. Leave your thoughts if you'd like.

    Sincerely,
    Just Me

  • gay marriages

Honestly I never understood why gay marriages were wrong. Until I realized that it was against the bible. For an assignment I had to talk about why gay marriage should be allowed. I know its wrong religiously, but other then that what else? Besides the fact that it can be gross to some people. Someone once told me that people who are gay, don't believe in God. Well that's not true for every gay person out there in the world. I know plenty of gay people who strongly believe in God. So its not true about gay people not believing in God.
Everyone should be able to choose who they want to marry. Humans can't choose who they want to love. Love is a natural happening. Its not like we are able to wake up one morning and say "Hmm I think I'll be gay." If you can do that and repeatedly change your interests in sex, then alright. I've never heard of that but okay.
All in all, gay marriage is religously wrong. But other then that I can't think of another reason why its wrong. It doesn't hurt anyone. Its not like someone is going to die if gay people were able to marry.

**Well thats all for today. Leave comments if you want to. I would love to hear everyone's feedback
